Threadjacking/threadhopping?: Absolutely!
4th-walling?: No thanks.
Backtagging: Hell yes.
Fighting/maiming?: River is advanced combat skilled but is only human. Plotting in advance for major bodily harm please.
Death?: Contact first.
Kissing/hugging/badtouching/etc?: She'll probably freak out, but sure.
Relationships: Unlikely.
KNOWLEDGE GAP: also known as "the problem with playing a genius level character". River has encyclopedic levels of knowledge on all manner of subjects from classical music to quantum physics -- and her player most certainly does not. While I can Google some things, please assume that any incorrect information is the fault of the player, not the character unless specifically noted as a mistake in the meta of the tag. If it's a subject you're informed on, I'd welcome a chance to edit if you want something more accurate but to 100% accurately research everything this girl knows would result in me never tagging ever. ;~;
Canon Permissions
River has canon abilities that are a little metagaming in an RP context so please take a moment to fill out this permissions comment! They deal with her being a Reader (psychic/empath) and that vein of abilities.
RIPPLES ON WATER
River is able to sense, for lack of a better term, people's auras. This includes their emotional state and demeanor, even if their outward expression and body language are hiding what they're really feeling. She states that "people say things all the time without speaking".
BLANKET OF STARS
In Serenity, River is brought along on a bank heist specifically for her Reader abilities, which prove useful as she is able to tell which hostage will go for a hidden gun before it happens, meaning that being a Reader may actually toe the line of precognition, augmented by intense observations and empathic "reads".
AN OPEN BOOK
In several episodes (but most particularly "Objects in Space") River deduces with astounding accuracy information based on very little input. For example from a single picture of the man's mother and dog and after listening to him over the ship's comms, she extrapolates that he was a sadistic child who killed the neighborhood pets and wanted a job where he was allowed to hurt people. Some of this crosses over into Reader territory.
